School Football returned after its winter break to winning ways. Last Thursday after school, we visited the muddy pitch of Wildmoor Heath. The game and conditions were not suited to our passing football but the team persevered, with the very wet pitch. Within the first minute, they were on top with a wonderfully crafted team goal that was finished by Olly L. The team continued trying to pass and work hard for each other and before half-time they found themselves another goal, finished well by Jacob S-H. The half-time team talk was about continuing to play our passing football and try something different from corners. The players took this onboard. The first corner of the second half was witness to some slick short passing between Jacob J and Ellis before a neat cross found Olly L to finish low into the corner.
Final score Wildmoor Heath 0 – 3 Jennett’s Park.
All players received a vote for player of the game and the overall POM was Olly L.
Mr Page’s favourite moments: Ellis taking a corner and getting mud all over his face; Jacob S-H looking like the swamp monster and Asa playing like a Rolls Royce and not needing to get a speck of mud on him.
Well done to the team. Thank you to the families for your support. We look forward to reporting about the girls team next week too.
