Pause Day
19th May 2023
The purpose of a ‘Pause Day’ is to give children an opportunity to stop and reflect and engage in higher level thinking during an ‘off-timetable’ Religious Education day.
Our theme this term was ‘Acts of Kindness’ which we linked specifically to the environment as an inspiration from St Francis of Assisi.
We took part in array of activities to benefit and support our surrounding environment. Some activities included:
-Creating recyclable bird feeders
– Natural art
-Animal yoga
-A bug hunt
-Reading in the outdoor area
We thought about what being kind means, how we can show it and how it links to our Rainbow promise. We also thought about how we carry on with these acts of kindness in the future.
Did you know we have a church in our school? It’s the Jennett’s Park Church St Francis and St Clare. As part of our Pause Day, the children engaged in a variety of activities exploring St. Francis and St. Clare to enable the children to become aware and understand the significance of the Saints at Jennett’s Park.
